In the Blink of an Eye: A Youth Social Film Project (June 2017)

The project In the Blink of an Eye was initiated by the US embassy culture department and Yael Perlov, and presented on June 19, 2017, during the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. The participants were students from various schools throughout Israel, among them students from Darca Druze High School for Science and Leadership in Yarka taking part in Young Women Parliament – Ruzin, Rima, Siraj, Yanal, Siwar, Mayar and Aya.

The project was reported on Mako news:

“During the project high school students from around the country have filmed one-shot personal videos using only their smartphones. Each participant filmed a hidden space opening: a door, a backpack, a window, a closet – revealing their heart to the viewers. What the viewers see is a personal space or experience of each student, unveiling the story of their own family, culture and community, all integrated into a colorful mosaic of identities. Each video is a one-shot audiovisual, like a human glance between two blinks of an eye.”
